Stop Reasoning
We read "do not worry" in the Bible, yet we worry anyway because our situation looks impossible. Why? Because we are using human wisdom to interpret spiritual truths. In this post, we explore why human logic is the enemy of faith and how trying to make God's Word "make sense" might be keeping you from His peace.

It doesn't take much to reject God's blessings. It doesn't take much to reject God. We do it every single day, unknowingly, I might add, regarding the understanding of His Word.
For us, as God's children, to understand the Word of God, we need the Spirit of God, because it is the Spirit that brings revelation of God's Word. But because we do not have a healthy relationship with the Spirit of God, we go for the next best thing, which is using human wisdom to interpret the Word of God.
The world is full of motivators. People who are willing to tell you about God's love. People who are willing to tell you about God's power. But how many of them are actually showing you God's love? How many of them are actually showing you God's power? It's impossible without the Spirit of God.
Let's take a look at our proof text for today.
"Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it".
Mark 10:15, NKJV.
Children are just amazing, aren't they? Their faith is something to be marvelled at. A child will tell you, "My dad is going to buy a helicopter." And they will actually believe that their dad is going to buy a helicopter. They truly wholeheartedly believe it. But upon closer inspection, when you look at their father, you find that the guy can't even afford a loaf of bread.
That is the problem with our faith. We reason too much. How can I buy this if I don't have a job? The Bible teaches us to forgive, and we say, "How can I forgive them when they did this to me?"
Okay then, answer me this. If the Spirit of God is peace, how can holding a grudge lead to peace? How can I confidently say I am being ushered by the Spirit of God when I am not on speaking terms with that one, when I don't like that one, when I am easily offended when that one speaks?
For every wrong that we do, there is a brilliant reason behind it. But this reason, this undeniable reason, is set upon the standards of this world. The standards of this world and the standards of God have never seen eye to eye, and they never will. This is a trick that is successfully used by the devil these days in trying to destroy our relationship with God. And he succeeded in it. He is definitely succeeding in it.
[We are told] to be kind, but how can you be kind to them when they are so rude to you? You have a reason for everything you do that is against the Word of God. "Do not worry, do not fear," but why are you doing these things? Don't bother looking for the answer in your Bible. You won't find it. You'll probably find it in social media and the media.
Mark Chapter 10, Verse 15 teaches us that if we accept God's Word like a little child, without any doubt, without any fear, without trying to make it make sense, if we could just accept it as it is, then and only then will we be able to enter the Kingdom of God.
And by the Kingdom of God, I mean peace, joy, breakthrough, fulfilment, purpose. All of those are godly things. They have nothing to do with education. They have nothing to do with what this world can offer.
If you want to see God in your life, if you want to see God's love in your life, if you want to see God's power in your life, then listen to this. Take these words to heart.
If God puts a white car in front of you and tells you that this car is black, don't be a genius. Be a little kid and just accept it. Even when your eyes are telling you this car is white. Even when every fibre of your being is telling you that this car is white—it looks white, it tastes white, it feels white, it sounds white. If you want to be safe, the car is black.
Consider Jesus' crucifixion. To the world, they were getting rid of a problem. They were solving a problem. Jesus was a thorn in their religion. And so, they thought and they believed that they were getting rid of that thorn. To us, it was a painful thing. The humiliation, the torture He went through, the crucifixion on the cross, you can just imagine the pain. To us, it was unbearable. To us, it was something that was not supposed to happen. It was a bad thing. But to God, He was saving the world.
Understanding is not for a human being. Human wisdom could never, in a million years, give you the understanding of God's Word. Understanding is a spiritual thing. We need the Spirit of God in our lives to fully understand what it is that God wants from us—to fully see, understand, and accept what God is giving to us. You need the Spirit of God to receive what is coming from God.
This is why we are struggling so much. This is why we are in so much pain. Because we are looking at the things of God in light of human wisdom, rather than seeking His faith, rather than repenting from our sins and accepting that indeed we are unable.
Many of the things that we are looking for, that we are asking for—unknowingly so, they are rooted in sinful desire. Because, according to the standards of this world, it looks good, it feels good, it sounds good, it tastes good. Therefore, it is good. But when you turn around, when you take a step back to really look at things in light of God's Word, you realise that, no, this is not the way. This is not light. This is darkness.
Stop reasoning. If God says don't worry, don't. Just accept it. Even if the situation around you is telling you that you need to worry, this is an impossible situation. God said don't worry, so don't. Ignore the situation. Focus on what is good. Focus on God. Because if you focus on your situation, your desperation will give you ideas, brilliant ones that will turn you into an enemy of God.
Stop reasoning and just accept the Word of God as it is.
